TACC's Human Rights Committee (HRC) is one of the most valuable assets to the organization. The goal of the committee is to ensure that the rights of all individuals receiving services from TACC are protected, that the most least restrictive measures are administered and that due process is ensured. To accomplish this task and to ensure objectivity and integrity, TACC put together a review team made up of individuals from outside the organization.

Members of the committee represent diverse components of community and individual supports. They include family members, service recipients, representatives from the Department of Human Resources, Social Security Administration, the clergy, medical field, related service providers, legal field and more.

From the observations of the HRC, TACC has been able to identify systemic issues that present barriers to providing quality and individualized services. Therefore, this committee sets forth the example of TACC's dedication to provide service recipients with the utmost care and treatment possible.
